Incorporated in 1913, Lake Worth is a beautiful city of some 30,000 residents encompassing five square miles and located at the center of the Palm Beach Coast, approximately midway between Boca Raton and West Palm Beach. Lake Worth is a treasure-hunter's paradise. Browse through the art and antique galleries along Lake and Lucerne Avenues. Specialty shops abound, featuring fine handmade American crafts, collectibles, unique jewelry and gifts. Dining is a five-star attraction, with tastes ranging from seafood to southern, French to Italian, sushi to scrumptious desserts.

For nightspots and music, Lake Worth is definitely a hot ticket. Take your pick from upbeat coffee shops, a late-night wine and Tapas café, an authentic blues club and more. The Lake Worth Playhouse, Palm Beach Institute of Contemporary Art and the Klein Dance Company are proud to provide a variety of cultural experiences.

The Lake Worth pier (960 feet long and open 24 hours a day) has long been known as the site of some of the world’s best ocean fishing and is the closest you can get to the fertile waters of the Atlantic's Gulf stream without a boat! Residents of Lake Worth enjoy an average temperature of 74 degrees, low crime, good schools and a relaxed South Florida lifestyle. The pier was damaged by the hurricanes this year.

This is the 11th year for the well known Lake Worth Street Painting Festival!  Over 400 Artists use the pavement as canvas to transform downtown Lake Worth into a temporary outdoor museum of original art and masterpiece reproductions.

The streets come alive as the artists transform the pavement into works of art.  It happens the last weekend of every February in downtown Lake Worth, Florida.

The great tradition of street painting began in Italy in the 16th century.  A crowd would gather whenever an itinerant artist used his chalks to turn the ordinary pavement into a fine work of art.  Although the "painting" would only last until the next rain, the tradition of street painting has endured over 400 years.

The downtown streets will be brimming with over 200 street paintings, sponsored by businesses, organizations, and individuals.  Artists will fill the pavement with their works of art.  The festival will also include strolling minstrels, jazz, classical music, dance, theatre, improvisation, and an array of street side cafes. 100,000 visitors who will celebrate!
